Mount Carmel - College for Girls

Crusade of Rescue

Year 9 pupils from Mount Carmel have worked hard raising funds for the Catholic charity Crusade of Rescue, who help disadvantaged families in the Westminster Diocese area. The students have been arranging a variety of events including a cake sale and a non-uniform day with further fund raising events taking place during the rest of the Summer Term.

A celebration at Westminster Hall was attended by all Roman Catholic Schools in the Westminster Diocese. The pupils taking part are - Rokaya, Shahaz, Buki, Ellie, Brandon, Georgia, Jodie, Shaniqua and Shermayne.

Mount Carmel Bake Off

The Geography Department hosted a Bake sale for Comic relief. It was a great success and several pupils from all year groups baked delicious cakes to be sold to raise money. Overall the college raised £210 for a great cause.

Congratulations to the Mount Carmel Star Baker winners for all their efforts on the day.

Pink Day 2013

Our sincerest thanks to all students and staff for participating in the Wear it Pink day supporting Breast Cancer research. Many staff went above and beyond helping with decorations or donations and promoting within their classes to make it a great success. So far we have raised over £345.

 Poppy Appeal

All students and staff at Mount Carmel took part in a two minutes silence on Monday 11th November to remember those who fought for our freedom during both World Wars and all wars since.

All students were also shown a powerpoint during registration explaining the reasons behind Remembrance Sunday and the wearing of poppies during this time.

The college raised £78 for the Poppy Appeal.

Operation Christmas Child

The Year 11 Ambassadors and Sue Kerrigan the Chaplin did an amazing job in relation to the organisation of Operation Christmas Child with students generous with their donations.

Since 1990, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoe box gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the gifts and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ.
